A California man allegedly conducted four cyberattacks during April and May of 2018 against the challenger to former Representative Katie Hill, causing the candidate’s website to be offline for 21 hours total. The victim, Bryan Caforio, claims the website downtime forced him to spend $30,000 to resolve the attacks, as well as made him lose campaign donations and contributed to his loss in the primary election that June.
