Two men are dead and two more are critically injured after a disagreement turned deadly near a Picayune, Mississippi gun shop Saturday evening.
The Pearl County Sheriffs Department responded to a call of a shootout at a gun store in Henleyfield Saturday evening. Investigators were told that earlier that afternoon a man and his son stopped in the store to pick up a firearm that had been repaired. Pearl County Sheriffs Department Chief Deputy Shane Tucker said that when they found out there was a $25 charge for a portion of the work, they became irate with the female owner of the store. According to Tucker, the owner called her husband who arrived shortly thereafter with his son.
Tempers flared and arguments erupted to the point of gunshots being exchanged from each side. One father and son died from multiple gunshot wounds, while the other father and son were transported by helicopter to a hospital.
The names of the injured and deceased will remain unavailable until Mississippi Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab has processed the crime scene and the Pearl River County Coroner has notified next of kin, Tucker said.
